Leith Eaton (American 20th Century) "CLOWNFISH" serigraph 121/150 signed "Leith" lower right 22 x 28in. Born in Florida, Leith Eaton is credited as the inventor of "Scintillism" or wet painting. First oil paint is applied directly from the tube in layers so that as the colors meet, they blend. Finally, a series of bold, mixed strokes are used to create an effervescent, illusion of shimmering color.
